Motorists sought in hit-run that hurt girl

Two vehicles were involved in an accident with a young pedestrian at a Holmesburg Wawa on Aug. 30, but neither driver bothered to wait for help to arrive. Instead, they fled the scene.

That’s why police on Monday released surveillance photos of the alleged crime scene hoping that someone will recognize the elusive motorists.

The young pedestrian, an 11-year-old girl, was walking in the parking lot of the Wawa at 7600 Frankford Ave. at about 4 p.m., police said, when one car struck her and pinned her against a second vehicle.

The girl suffered a cut and bruise to her right knee.

Both vehicles fled the scene.

Police described the striking car as a silver mid-size four-door sedan with a sunroof. Its occupants were a man and woman.

The man was described as white, 18 to 24 years old and thin. He wore black shorts, a black tank top and a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap. The woman was described as white, 18 to 24 years old and with a medium build. She wore a gray shirt and blue jeans with holes in the front. Her brown hair was worn “pulled back,” police said.

The second vehicle was a white, four-door sedan with a sunroof and was occupied by a male, possibly white or Hispanic, 18 to 24 years old and with numerous tattoos. He wore a white tank top and black shorts.

Call the accident investigation division at 215–685–3180 or dial 911 to report information. ••
