He was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in stable condition with what a Philadelphia police spokeswoman described as a graze wound to the back of the leg.

Meanwhile, police are looking for a black man, about 20 years old and about 5 feet 8 inches tall, who was wearing a black hat, gray hoodie and blue jeans, said Officer Jillian Russell.

The shooting occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on the 6700 block of Marsden St.

The 10-year-old reported that he was standing on the corner of Marsden Street and Unruh Avenue when he saw a flash, heard four gunshots and felt pain in his leg. He ran to his nearby home, where relatives called police.

According to one published report, police believe that the gunman was firing in the direction of a nearby house as a result of an argument, but a specific motive is not known.

Call Northeast Detectives at 215–686–3153 to report information about the shooting. ••
