Frankford man charged in killing near movie set

A 21-year-old Frankford man surrendered May 9 to detectives investigating a murder that took place a day before an action movie was to be filmed a block away.

Andre Logan, of the 4300 block of Tackawanna St., is not the only one charged in the May 7 murder of 18-year-old Robert Sneed of Ogontz. Police arrested Michael Dingle, 18, on May 10. Dingle, of the 2000 block of N. 22nd St., was taken into custody on the 5900 block of W. Walton St.

Police said a quarrel had led to the shooting shortly before 4 p.m. on May 7. Officers had been called to the 1900 block of Kinsey St. to investigate a report of a person with a gun when they found Sneed on the sidewalk. He had been shot several times in the torso. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital in North Philadelphia, where he died at 5:16 p.m.

The very next day, the movie Dead Man Down, began shooting inside the old Globe Dye Works building at Kinsey Street and Torresdale Avenue.

Logan and Dingle both are charged with murder, conspiracy, firearms violations and related offenses, police said.

Logan, who also is known as Andre Damar, Andre Kittzles and Andre Slocum, was found guilty of a disorderly conduct charge for fighting in 2010. Logan and Dingle are scheduled for a preliminary on May 30, according to court records.

They both are being held in the Philadelphia Detention Center. ••
