Quite the honor: State Rep. Ed Neilson joined members of the 8th Police District Advisory Council recently to recognize five members of the district as Officers of the Year. The honorees were (front, from left) Rosario Capaccio of 3-Squad, James Boccalupo of 1-Squad, Richard Greger of 2-Squad, Mark Mazzoni of 5-Squad and Dan Richardson of 5-Squad. Also pictured are (back, from left) Police Chaplain Nancy Waidel, Police Chaplain Bill Parks, Neilson, Capt. Len Ditchkofsky and 8th PDAC Chairman Harry Sonntag. According to Ditchkofsky, the district commander, the officers were selected for their “consistent service” to the district, their excellent attendance record and teamwork.
