In the holiday spirit: Winners of the first Mayfair Christmas Decoration Contest: the Gerace family.
Organizers of the first Mayfair Christmas Decoration Contest named three winners out of 50 nominees.
The winners, in no particular order, were the Costanzo family, of the 7400 block of Brous Ave.; the Quinn family, of the 3000 block of Princeton Ave.; and the Gerace family, of the 3500 block of Shelmire Ave.
Each winning house received a gift certificate to a Mayfair business and a lawn sign designating them as a contest winner. Mayfair Business Association members that donated prizes were Aztec Signs & Graphics, Shop n Bag, Grey Lodge Pub, Malibu Beach Tanning Salon, Viriva Community Credit Union, Mike Perzel Insurance Agency, Bellalisa Hair Studio and Torresdale Flower Shop.
The Mayfair Civic Association organized the contest. Judges rated each house on a scale from 1 to 12, and the winners were those with the highest overall scores. ••
