Alleged ‘Swiss Cheese Pervert’ out on bail

Christopher Pagano

A Montgomery County man who allegedly exposed himself to women in Mayfair while asking them to perform a sexual act on him with Swiss cheese is out on bail.

Christopher Pagano, 41, was arrested last Thursday. According to court records, he posted 10 percent of his $30,000 bail on Sunday.

A warrant was issued for Pagano, of the 500 block of Nobel Street in Norristown, at 9 a.m. Jan. 16, according to Lt. Anthony McFadden of the city’s Special Victims Unit. “And we went right out and got him,” he said that afternoon.

Pagano was arrested at his residence, according to the Philadelphia Police Department, and charged with two counts of stalking, two counts of indecent exposure, three counts of harassment and two counts of open lewdness.

Although Pagano’s alleged nighttime soliciting forays in and around Frankford Avenue had made “Swiss Cheese Pervert” stories an Internet sensation since Jan. 10, no one actually had talked to police about him until three days later, McFadden said. Other witnesses were interviewed Jan. 14.

“We eventually found someone who could identify him in a photo spread of eight people,” McFadden said.

Police are charging Pagano for exposing himself and soliciting unusual sex on three occasions:

— Jan. 1, around the 7400 block of Frankford Avenue;

— Jan. 5, on the 7100 block of Frankford Avenue;

— Jan. 5 on the 4200 block of Chippendale Street.

McFadden said Pagano was arrested without incident by Special Victims Unit detectives with the assistance of Norristown police. ••
