Patrick S. McGonigal, Father Judge class of 1981, donated $2.5 million to his alma mater during a Mass on Saturday in the school auditorium to celebrate Judge’s 60th anniversary.

McGonigal grew up on Knorr Street in West Mayfair and attended St. Timothy Grammar School before enrolling at Judge. He went on to graduate from Drexel University with a degree in finance and accounting.

The donation will go to ensure Judge’s sustainability into the future.

“It’s generous,” the Rev. Joe Campellone, Judge president, said of the gift. “He was a very successful businessman and hasn’t forgotten where he came from.”

Judge has also named its baseball scoreboard and Center for Fitness and Wellness in McGonigal’s honor.

McGonigal serves on Judge’s Board of Advisors and is the school’s chief financial officer, in charge of strategic planning. ••
