Man robs sushi restaurant at knifepoint

Surveillance photo

Police are looking for a man who used a knife in a Burholme sushi restaurant, but he wasn’t trying to slice raw fish.

Rather, an unidentified robber used a blade to hold up Makiman Sushi at 7300 Oxford Ave. on June 25. The crook approached a cashier at about 5:45 p.m., brandished the weapon, demanded money and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register drawer. He fled in an unknown direction possibly in a gray Nissan with front-end damage.

In surveillance video, the man can be seen outside the business wearing his shirt over his head like the cartoon character Beavis. Police described him as a man of unknown race, in his 20s, with a medium build, a black shirt and black jeans.
