2nd PDAC holds Ride for Peace event

Members of the Philadelphia Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office joined community leaders in the Northeast for the annual 2nd Police District Advisory Council Bike Ride for Peace and Community Day on Sept. 12.

Bicyclists rode more than 10 miles through the district’s neighborhoods, including Castor Gardens, Burholme, Oxford Circle, Summerdale, Crescentville and Lawndale, greeting passers-by and promoting interactions between authorities and the community.

After the ride, the 2nd PDAC hosted a community fair in the Target parking lot at Bustleton and Bleigh avenues with vendors, music and family-friendly activities.

The 2nd PDAC meets on the second Tuesday of the month, September through June, at Philadelphia Protestant Home social hall, 6500 Tabor Ave., at 7 p.m. ••
