Latte

Latte will warm your heart

Latte is a 52-pound, 2- to 3-year-old white terrier mix who is at Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave., as a stray. Her tag number is A30475381.

This friendly girl loves to bond with humans. She is motivated by treats and takes them gently from your hand. If you have lots of toys, she will be in heaven. The shelter staff believes she might be deaf.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Carissa deserves a chance

Carissa used to live a tough life on the streets, scrounging for food and fighting off other animals to protect all the kittens she was trying to raise in that lonely alley.

The cat was rescued by a good Samaritan when she was pregnant this past fall. Unfortunately, she got sick and so did her babies, and they did not survive.

However, she was able to make a full recovery and is in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue. Her coat is beautiful again, she put weight back on and is healthy. She love every person she meets, and she gets along with older children. She does not get along with other cats or dogs.

Carissa, 2, is spayed and current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.
