Two burglars apparently wanted to hit the lottery at a Parkwood Deli earlier this month, but they left as losers.

Police responded to a burglary alarm at Reen’s Deli, 12319 Academy Road, at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 11 and found that someone had used a brick to smash open the front door. Upon a review of surveillance video, investigators learned that two men had entered the store and rummaged around the cash register area attempting to steal lottery tickets.

Police did not say if the crooks found anything of value, but they did leave some interesting surveillance video behind. To view it, visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
