Salesman held at gunpoint during test drive

Surveillance photo

A Cadillac test drive turned into a royal nightmare for a used car salesman in Frankford earlier this year as a would-be customer with a gun took off with the merchandise.

Last week, Philadelphia police posted surveillance video of the luxury car robber on YouTube.

The crime happened at about 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 16 after an unknown man went to Best Buy Imports at 4060 Frankford Ave. looking to buy a Cadillac. During a test drive in the neighborhood, the customer pulled a gun on the 25-year-old salesman and ordered him to get out of the car. The robber drove off and was last seen northbound on Interstate 95 near Academy Road.

Police say the robber was black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 360 pounds with a red baseball cap, gray hoodie, black vest and black jeans. He walks with a limp.
