Police probe two abductions

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit are investigating a pair of alleged abductions of school-age girls in the Northeast.

Detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit are investigating a pair of abductions of school-age girls in the Northeast that occurred two days apart.

In one case, a 15-year-old victim was sexually assaulted, police said, while in the other, an 11-year-old was driven a few blocks and dropped off unharmed.

The latest incident occurred on June 8 at about 6:45 p.m. According to police, the 15-year-old said she was walking home along Orthodox Street near Trenton Avenue in Frankford when three unidentified men pulled up to her in a small black car. Police did not specify how the girl ended up inside the car. The suspects drove to the 1300 block of Foulkrod Street, took her inside an abandoned house and assaulted her sexually.

The victim told police she left the house and walked to the nearby home of a relative, where she reported the incident.

She described the suspects as three black males, 17 or 18 years old. One wore a red hoodie, ski mask, gray sweatpants and Timberland boots. He is 6 feet tall. A second suspect is also 6 feet tall. He is heavy set with a wide nose, small eyes and facial hair. He wore a black hoodie, blue jeans and red and black sneakers. The third suspect has a light complexion and wore a black Adidas hoodie, ski mask, black pants and black Timberland boots.

Another alleged abduction occurred on June 6 on the 1900 block of Faunce Street. Police said the 11-year-old victim told them she was walking in a driveway behind some buildings on her way to school at about 10:30 a.m. when an unidentified man forced her into a newer model black car. She described the suspect as white and 30 to 40 years old.

The abductor drove the girl several blocks and dropped her off at Cottman and Loretto avenues. She was uninjured.
