Job well done: Officers John Krawczyk and Eric Lee were recently recognized by the 15th Police District Advisory Council.

Police Officers John Krawczyk and Eric Lee were recognized as Officers of the Month for the 15th district during a recent meeting of the Police District Advisory Council.

Throughout July, the partner officers made at least four major crime arrests involving a shooting suspect, a serial carjacking suspect, four escapees from a mental health facility and a theft from auto suspect.

On July 9, Krawczyk and Lee were conducting surveillance on the 5800 block of Saul St. when they saw someone break into a parked car. The suspect stole undisclosed items from the passenger compartment. Using a tracking device, the officers trailed the suspect and arrested him a short time later.

On July 13, four juveniles who had been committed to Friends Hospital assaulted a nurse and fled the facility, police said. Krawczyk and Lee traveled to Albert Einstein Medical Center to meet with the victim. On the way, they spotted the four suspected escapees near an exit to the Broad Street subway. The officers arrested the escapees, who were charged with attempted murder.

On July 27, Krawczyk and Lee went to the area of Bustleton Avenue and Strahle Street to assist a 2nd district officer who had been involved in a shooting with two carjacking suspects. Krawczyk and Lee found one of the suspects hiding in Pennypack Park and captured him. The suspect was charged with four carjackings in the city and suburbs.

Two days later, the partner officers went to the 7100 block of Tulip in response to a shooting. When they arrived, they saw a man allegedly clutch the waistband of his pants and run into a house. The officers followed the man and found him holding a gun. They arrested him there. ••
