Talk about a plan backfiring.

Police are looking for a man who put forth a half-hearted attempt to rob the Dunkin’ Donuts at 6608 Frankford Ave. on Jan. 9. Surveillance video captured the man from many angles entering and exiting the store. The video has since been taken off of YouTube.

The man entered the store at around 10:08 a.m. and handed a note to a 19-year-old female employee behind the counter. Police say the note demanded cash from the register. Police also say he motioned that he was armed with a handgun. The employee handed the note back and went to the back of the store. The video seems to show that the employee talked to another female employee behind the counter before leaving.

The video shows the suspect attempting to talk to the second employee after the first one leaves, motioning to the cash register. The video has no audio, but there is no visible reaction from the second employee.

Upon being ignored for the second time, the would-be robber awkwardly turns around and leaves without obtaining any money.

Police describe the suspect as a white man between 35 and 40 years of age with a scruffy beard. He stands between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket over a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, as well as glasses and gloves.
