PennDOT announces travel restrictions, lane closures on I-95

Work will continue through Aug. 3.

Travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 for guide rail replacement and maintenance, PennDOT announced.

The work schedule is through Thursday, Aug. 2, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Academy Road/Linden Avenue and Route 413/Bristol interchanges.

There will also be double lane closures on southbound Interstate 95 from just south of the Cottman Avenue interchange to the Allegheny Avenue interchange through Thursday, Aug. 2, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, Aug. 3, from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities on a project to repair and resurface deteriorated sections on a 7-mile portion of northbound and southbound I-95 between Cottman and Interstate 676.

PennDOT said the resurfacing operations are expected to be completed in October.

The work on I-95 was added to a recent contract to repair and resurface 12 miles of the outer, local lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard between 9th Street and the Bucks County line.

H&K Group Inc., of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $11 million project, which is financed with state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania’s Transportation Plan. ••
