Carmichael coming to Mayfair

Former Eagles wide receiver Harold Carmichael will attend the final WIP “Go Birds” Pre-Game Show and Party of the season on Sunday, Dec. 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chickie’s and Pete’s, 4010 Robbins Ave.

“Go Birds” hosts, James Seltzer and John Barchard will break down the game with the Washington Redskins.

The day will include breakfast, pictures and autographs with Carmichael and games and giveaways by Sports Radio WIP.

The event is sponsored by the Mayfair Business Improvement District. ••

Half-price clothing sale

The Classroom Thrift Shop, 4301 Tyson Ave., sponsored by the women of Temple Menorah Keneseth Chai, will hold its half-price clothing sale Jan. 2-11.

Shop hours are weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 215-624-9600. ••

Open house for railroad club

The Abington Lines Model Railroad Club, 2066 Second Street Pike in Richboro, will host several open houses.

Open houses are scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. on the following weekend days: Dec. 29-30, Jan. 5-6 and 12-13 and Feb. 2-3 and 9-10.

Mahjong class at KleinLife

KleinLife, 10100 Jamison Ave., will hold a Mahjong class on Wednesdays, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., through Jan. 10.

Diane Marshall will lead the sessions on the ancient game.

The cost is $45 and includes a Mahjong card. Payment can be made at the front desk.

Documentary on Philly’s past

Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave., will present a film, Lost Philadelphia, followed by a discussion on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m.

Presenter Rick Spector will explore Philadelphia’s forgotten past, highlighting the last 100 years in the fields of entertainment, sports, food and neighborhood life. ••

Jazz concert on Jan. 6
