A pair of elementary schools in the Northeast were placed on lockdown Friday morning after scares involving a toy gun and a bullet.

Authorities responded to J. Hampton Moore School, 6900 Summerdale Ave., at 8:40 a.m. after a student reported seeing a gun at the school. Police and School District of Philadelphia officers investigated and found that a student brought in a toy gun.

The lockout lasted about an hour, authorities said.

Families from the school received a letter and robocall from the principal explaining the incident, according to a School District spokeswoman.

At Thomas Holme School, 9125 Academy Road, a student brought in a live bullet. The building was put on lockdown just before 10:30 a.m., authorities said.

Police and the School District lifted the lockdown at around 10:45 a.m. after they determined there was no further threat to students. A letter was sent home to inform parents, the School District spokeswoman said.

No one was injured in either case, according to authorities. ••
