Kutztown University and the Kutztown University Foundation have named 36 students as Presidential Ambassadors for the 2019-2020 school year, including Nyairah Flowers. The mission of the group is to support events that connect current students with alumni, faculty, staff and university friends, to act as ambassadors of the university and to create new traditions that enhance KU pride.

Wilkes University student Abigail Tarway is participating in an internship for the fall semester. Tarway, a sociology major, is interning with The ARC of Luzerne County.

Little Flower graduate Jada Rivera is one of 14 freshmen enrolled at Widener University as Apogee Scholars. Apogee Scholars are recognized for their high potential to lead positive change on campus and in their communities. The students were all recipients of Widener High School Leadership Awards, and each received a $20,000 scholarship to attend Widener. As High School Leadership Award recipients, all of the students were nominated by their high schools for their abilities to stand up for what is right, address a wrong and make a difference in their communities or schools. Rivera is studying exploratory studies at Widener.

Widener University conferred degrees to more than 1,100 graduates in a ceremony at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

The commencement speaker was former U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, a Widener alumnus and member of the Widener University Board of Trustees.
