Holmesburg Civic considers zoning cases, meets 15th Police District CRO

The Holmesburg Civic Association last week listened to two zoning proposals and met the community relations officer in the 15th Police District.

Members unanimously voted to not oppose a special exception for an existing tenant at 7600 State Road. The application was for wood pallet recycling and refurbishing storage.

Members tied, 4-4, in a vote on legalizing a bar takeout establishment at 7447 Torresdale Ave. The shop, open for 10 years, needs to add food sales to be in compliance. The vacant second floor will be used for seating. The third floor is a living space. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. There are security cameras on site.

Meanwhile, Rachael Mahoney told the crowd she started her new assignment as the 15th district’s CRO on Dec. 31. She can be reached at Rachael.Mahoney@phila.gov.
