State Rep. Jared Solomon on Friday afternoon teamed with Tio Pepe owner Orlando Jacome to feed 300 people at the restaurant at Castor Avenue and Fanshawe Street.

People stopped outside the restaurant to receive meals of chicken drumsticks and rice.

Helping out were 2nd Police District community relations officer Mark Mroz; Lawncrest Community Association president Bill Dolbow; 53rd Ward Democratic leader Janice Sulman; Speedy Auto owner Sergio Polyakov; and Mike Lavin, a member of Plumbers Local 690.

Tio Pepe is open for takeout during the coronavirus pandemic.

A day earlier, Solomon joined Nick’s Roast Beef owner Matt Rossi to provide free meals to hundreds of residents in the parking lot across the street from the restaurant, 2210 Cottman Ave. ••
