Crime log: Dec. 2, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Nov. 9 through 22

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were six robberies, three of which took place on the street with handguns at 5900 Colgate St. (Nov. 12), 6300 Frontenac St. (Nov. 13) and 2400 Faunce St. (Nov. 17), and a fourth without a weapon at 6000 Rising Sun Ave. (Nov. 19). The others happened at a food store at 2000 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 12) and an unlisted location at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 19).

There were 15 aggravated assaults, which resulted in two arrests. Domingo Ramos, 74, was arrested Nov. 13 following an assault with a handgun on the street at 5800 Tabor Ave., and Alvado Alves, 42, was arrested Nov. 15 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 2500 Faunce St. Assaults on the street took place at 1400 Friendship St. (Nov. 14) and 6300 Martins Mill Road (Nov. 21), both of which involved handguns, 400 Robbins St. (Nov. 14), 400 Alcott St. (Nov. 14) and twice at 6000 Lawndale St. (Nov. 10), all of which involved other weapons, an incident at 4800 Roosevelt Blvd. with no weapons (Nov. 10) and domestic assaults at 400 Sanger St. (Nov.  20), 2300 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 17) and twice at 6000 Lawndale St. (Nov. 10). Assaults at private residences happened twice at 4800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 10) and at 200 Devereaux Ave. (Nov. 18). 

There were four burglaries, which took place at an apartment house at 300 Levick St. (Nov. 16), a private residence at 1400 Stevens St. (Nov. 20), on the street at 700 Napfle Ave. (Nov. 19) and a food store at 2000 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 21). A burglary attempt was made at an apartment house at 6600 Oxford Ave. (Nov. 21). 

There were 71 thefts, which targeted 30 vehicles (including seven stolen vehicle tags), 29 businesses, nine street thefts, two apartment houses and a private residence. Two arrests were made.

7th Police District

A bank at 11000 Roosevelt Blvd. was robbed Nov. 9.

An aggravated assault involving a handgun took place on the street Nov. 22 at 900 Red Lion Road.

There were seven burglaries, which took place at private residences at 13400 Kelvin Ave. (Nov. 19), 9600 Pine Road (Nov. 17), 10800 Kelvin Ave. (Nov. 19) and 11000 Lindsay St. (Nov. 20). Other burglaries happened at a barber shop/beauty salon at 15200 Bustleton Ave. (Nov. 19), 11500 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 21) and a church at 1700 Winchester Ave. (Nov. 14).

There were 36 thefts, which targeted 18 vehicles, 14 businesses, three street thefts and a private residence. Two arrests were made. In addition, five vehicles were reported stolen, and four vehicles were recovered. 

8th Police District

There were two robberies, which took place on the street at 9900 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 21) with a knife and at an apartment house at 10800 Keswick Road (Nov. 16) with a handgun.

There were five aggravated assaults. Rashad Grange-Allen, 18, was arrested Nov. 12 following a domestic assault on the street at 3400 Arthur St. Others took place at an apartment house at 3600 Red Lion Road (Nov. 10), on the street at 10000 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 22), at a hospital at 2600 Holme Ave. (Nov. 15) and a prison facility at 8500 State Road (Nov. 14).

Michael Gates, 29, was arrested Nov. 15 following a burglary at a private residence at 4400 Convent Lane. It was the only reported burglary.

There were 31 thefts, which targeted 15 businesses, 12 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and two stolen vehicle tags), two street thefts (including a purse snatching), a private residence and a bicycle. One arrest was made.

15th Police District

There were 17 robberies, which took place on the street at 1600 Margaret St. (Nov. 12), the intersection of Devereaux and Brous avenues (Nov. 10), 3000 Pennypack Path (Nov. 13), 4900 Duffield St. (Nov. 14), 3300 Saint Vincent St. (Nov. 14), 3200 Ryan Ave. (Nov. 14), 1500 Pratt St. (Nov. 14), 1300 Arrott St. (Nov. 16), 5200 Glenloch St. (Nov. 16), 2200 Pratt St. (Nov. 19), 4100 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 20) and 5700 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 21) and a vehicle parked at 900 Dyre St. (Nov. 11), all of which involved handguns, and at 5200 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 11) and 3500 Bleigh Ave. (Nov. 14), which did not involve weapons. Other robberies happened at a chain retail store at 4400 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 20) and a mini market at 6600 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 16).

There were 30 aggravated assaults. Assaults on the street included incidents with handguns at 4700 Melrose St. (Nov. 10), twice at 1700 Brill St. (Nov. 9), 1200 Bridge St. (Nov. 13), 4800 Aramingo Ave. (Nov. 15), 5400 Sylvester St. (Nov. 16), twice at 4000 Chippendale Ave. (Nov. 18) and 4100 Kensington Ave. (Nov. 20); assaults with knives at 5300 Lesher St. (Nov. 14) and 4700 Oxford Ave. (Nov. 19); an assault with another weapon at 6300 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 11); domestic assaults at the intersection of Cheltenham Avenue and Charles Street (Nov. 10), twice at 4000 Chippendale Ave. (Nov. 18), 4700 Charles Terrace (Nov. 13) and 7700 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 20); and an assault on police at 4100 Richmond St. (Nov. 11). Assaults at private residences included two incidents with handguns at 4200 Meridian St. (Nov. 15), incidents with knives at 5900 Hegerman St. (Nov. 14) and 5800 Charles St. (Nov. 18) and domestic assaults at 4500 Shelmire Ave. (Nov. 11), 1800 Fillmore St. (Nov. 15), 4700 Belgrade St. (Nov. 9), 6200 Tackawanna St. (Nov. 16), 3400 Princeton Ave. (Nov. 18), 4200 Passmore St. (Nov. 18) and 4800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 21). Nine people were arrested.

There were nine burglaries and one attempt. Burglaries at private residences happened at 1300 Orthodox St. (Nov. 20), 4700 Ashville St. (Nov. 22), twice at 5000 Saul St. (Nov. 10), 4400 E. Wingohocking St. (Nov. 17) and 6000 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 9). Other burglaries took place at a bar/cafe at 6400 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 14), an auto parts store at 6400 Hegerman St. (Nov. 18) and a commercial garage at 7300 State Road (Nov. 14). A burglary attempt took place at an apartment house at 7300 Keystone Road on Nov. 14.

There were 79 thefts, which targeted 40 vehicles (including seven stolen vehicle tags), 14 street thefts, 12 businesses, eight private residences, three apartment houses and two SEPTA elevated stations. Nine arrests were made.
