Crime log: Dec. 9, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Nov. 23 through Dec. 6

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were 17 robberies, which resulted in two arrests. Jacque McLaughlin, 24, was arrested Dec. 6 following a robbery of a gas station at 5800 Oxford Ave. with a handgun, and Kahlil Register, 28, was arrested Dec. 1 following the robbery of a mini market at 5900 Rising Sun Ave. Robberies on the street with handguns took place at 900 Sanger St. (Nov. 30), 1200 Alcott St. (Nov. 30), 6800 Sylvester St. (Dec. 5) and a vehicle parked at 2000 Napfle Ave. (Nov. 30), a robbery with a knife took place at a vehicle parked at 6700 Castor Ave. (Nov. 27), and robberies on the street with no weapons happened at 5500 Whitaker Ave. (Nov. 23), 2300 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 29) and the intersection of Montour and Garland streets (Dec. 1). Robberies also took place at a food store at 2100 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 29), a retail location at 700 Adams Ave. (Dec. 6) with a handgun, a retail location at 600 Foulkrod St. (Dec. 2) with a weapon, and at mini markets at 5700 Colgate St. (Dec. 1), 500 Van Kirk St. (Dec. 2), 5700 Rising Sun Ave. (Dec. 2) and 300 Van Kirk St. (Dec. 2). 

There were 11 aggravated assaults, which resulted in three arrests. Mariah Martinez, 22, was arrested following a domestic assault at a private residence at 1400 Lardner St., Jaquan Grey, 18, was arrested Dec. 1 following an assault at a private residence at 500 Adams Ave., and Steven Ralph Blagman, 34, was arrested Nov. 25 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 800 Granite St. Assaults on the street with handguns happened three times at 600 Mayfair St. (Nov. 23), 7000 Castor Ave. (Nov. 28) and 2300 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 30), at a gas station at 7000 Castor Ave. (Nov. 28) and at private residences at 6800 Souder St. (Nov. 30) and 800 Granite St. (Dec. 5). 

There were four burglaries. Mohammed Abbas, 22, was arrested Dec. 6 following a burglary at a private residence at 1700 Vista St. Other burglaries took place at private residences at 1200 Knorr St. (Nov. 27) and 7200 Oakley St. (Nov. 26) and at a commercial garage at 7900 Rockwell Ave. (Nov. 24).

There were 61 thefts, which targeted 31 businesses, 22 vehicles (including four stolen vehicle tags), seven street thefts (including two purse snatchings) and a private residence. Five arrests were made.

7th Police District

There were two robberies. Marcello Ferreira, 26, was arrested Nov. 25 following a robbery at a drugstore at 9800 Bustleton Ave. A motorist parked at 600 Byberry Road was robbed on Nov. 26.

Aggravated assaults happened on the street at 13000 Kelvin Ave. (Dec. 6) and at a private residence at 9200 Grace Lane (Nov. 28).

There were no burglaries. One burglary attempt was made at a private residence at 2300 Hoffnagle St. on Dec. 1.

There were 39 thefts, which targeted 19 businesses, 13 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), five street thefts, an apartment house and a nursing/retirement home. One arrest was made. In addition, two vehicles were stolen, and two were recovered.

8th Police District

The only reported robbery took place at a vehicle parked at 3000 Holme Ave. on Dec. 2.

There were 14 aggravated assaults. Jayann Kinniry, 55, and Gregory Ogrod, 53, were arrested Nov. 30 following eight assaults, including assaults on police, at 3500 Kyle Road. Kinniry was involved in five of the assaults and Ogrod was involved in eight. Victoria Murdough, 34, was arrested Nov. 24 following two assaults with knives on the street and at a private residence at 8700 Glenloch St., and Daquan Timmons, 26, was arrested Dec. 2 following an assault with  a handgun on the street at 8200 Roosevelt Blvd. Other assaults included a domestic assault at an apartment house at 9600 Ashton Road (Nov. 24) and at prison facilities at 8000 State Road (Nov. 27) and 8300 State Road (Nov. 26).

There were seven burglaries, which took place at private residences at 10900 Ellicott Road (Nov. 24), 3500 Wessex Lane (Nov. 28) and 12800 McCarthy Circle (Nov. 30). Other burglaries happened at an apartment house at 2800 Welsh Road (Dec. 1), a chain retail location at 3100 Willits Road (Nov. 27), a restaurant at 4500 Woodhaven Road (Dec. 5) and a storage facility at 12000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Dec. 1). 

There were 45 thefts, which targeted 22 businesses, 17 vehicles (including two stolen car phones and a stolen vehicle tag), three private residences, two street thefts and a factory/warehouse.

15th Police District

There were 18 robberies. Francisco Hernandez, 20, and Ian Lewis, 21 were arrested Nov. 25 following four robberies on the street with handguns, which took place at the intersection of Frankford and Unruh avenues, the intersection of Princeton Avenue and Sackett Street, 3300 Saint Vincent St. and 3000 Gilham St. Three other people were arrested, including Manuel Delarosa, 41, following a robbery with a handgun at a private residence at 2200 Brill St. on Dec. 5, Dwayne Jordan, 50, following a robbery of a vehicle parked at 4000 Robbins St. with a handgun on Dec. 5, and Michael McNamara, 36, following the robbery of a vehicle parked at 6700 Frankford Ave. on Nov. 30. Robberies on the street involving handguns took place at 4600 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 25), 5100 Mebus St. (Nov. 30), 4000 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 23), 7600 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 24) and 4700 Worth St. (Nov. 28), and a robbery with no weapon at 5400 Rutland St. (Nov. 25). Other robberies, all involving handguns, took place at private residences at 1600 Van Kirk St. (Nov. 23), 3200 Friendship St. (Dec. 5) and 4600 Sheffield Ave. (Dec. 5), at a gas station at 5800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 24) and a chain retail location at 6500 Harbison Ave. (Nov. 30).

There were 25 aggravated assaults, which resulted in six arrests. Assaults on the street with handguns happened at 1300 Arrott St. (Nov. 23), 4000 Vista St. (Nov. 26, James Hay, 21), 2300 Orthodox St. (Nov. 29), 5200 Whitaker Ave. (Nov. 29), twice at 2100 Sanger St. (Dec. 1, Joshua Gonzales, 18), 2000 Anchor St. (Nov. 30), 6500 Vandike St. (Dec. 2) and 4600 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 2), and domestic assaults on the street happened at 6400 Hawthorne St. (Nov. 30, Joshua Gonzales, 18) and 4300 Bermuda St. (Dec. 6, Mohammed Jubran, 30). Assaults at private residences included domestic assaults at 5000 Whitaker Ave. (Nov. 25), 1800 Sanger St. (Nov. 28), 6100 Charles St. (Nov. 29), 1600 Haworth St. (Dec. 5), 4300 E. Wingohocking St. (Nov. 28) and 5200 Whitaker Ave. (Dec. 2); an assault with a handgun at 1800 Kinsey St. (Dec. 4); assaults with knives at 4600 Hedge St. (Nov. 27, Lance Moore, 32) and 4100 Salem St. (Dec. 5), assaults with other weapons at 5000 Whitaker Ave. (Nov. 26) and 4100 Hellerman St. (Dec. 6); an assault with no weapons at 5200 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 27); and a child abuse instance at 1500 Adams Ave. (Nov. 26). Marino Spariosu, 35, was arrested Dec. 4 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 4300 E. Wingohocking St. 

There were 11 burglaries. Transylvania Harris, 39, was arrested Dec. 4 following the burglary of a private residence at 4600 Mulberry St. Other burglaries at private residences happened at 5400 Walker St. twice (Nov. 28 and Dec. 5), 2900 Lardner St. (Nov. 26) and 1900 Auth St. (Nov. 30), and burglaries at apartment houses happened at 7900 Fairfield St. (Nov. 24), 4700 Shelmire Ave. (Dec. 1) and 1900 Bridge St. (Dec. 2). Other burglaries happened at an auto dealer at 6800 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 30), a retail location at 6200 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 23) and on the street at 7700 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 4).

There were 53 thefts, which targeted 27 vehicles (including two stolen car phones and eight stolen vehicle tags), 12 businesses, nine street thefts, two private residences, two commercial garages and a bicycle. Four arrests were made.
