2nd Police District
There were 15 robberies, which resulted in two arrests. Alonzo Norwood, 19, was arrested Jan. 28 following a vehicle hijacking at 5900 Lawndale St., and Ronald Byrd, 30, was arrested Jan. 18 following the robbery of an apartment house at 7200 Rising Sun Ave. Robberies on the street included incidents with handguns at 1400 Magee Ave. (Jan. 20), 6000 Lawndale St. (Jan. 22), 1400 Hellerman St. (Jan. 23), 1300 Greeby St. (Jan. 25) and 1400 Fanshawe St. (Jan. 30), and incidents with no weapons happened at 1300 Cottman Ave. (Jan. 18), 7700 Rockwell Ave. (Jan. 21), 2000 Cottman Ave. (Jan. 25) and the intersection of Eastwood and Longshore avenues (Jan. 25). Other robberies took place at a gas station at 5800 Oxford Ave. (Jan. 21), retail locations at 7300 Castor Ave. (Jan. 27) and 500 Adams Ave. (Jan. 27) and a vehicle parked at 6800 Kindred St. (Jan. 29), all of which involved handguns.
There were 10 aggravated assaults, which resulted in two arrests. Shannon Mehan, 31, was arrested Jan. 30 following a domestic assault on the street at 7900 Dungan Road, and Haziel Ortiz, 31, was arrested Jan. 28 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 6300 Elmhurst St. Assaults on the street included incidents with handguns at 7100 Large St. (Jan. 18), 1400 Stevens St. (Jan. 30) and 6700 Martins Mill Road (Jan. 30), assaults with knives at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Adams Avenue (Jan. 20) and 1200 McKinley St. (Jan. 22) and an incident with no weapon at 7700 Dungan Road. Other assaults happened at private residences at 800 Marcella St. (Jan. 22) and 900 Chandler St. (Jan. 24) and a retail location at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (Jan. 22).
There were five burglaries, which took place at private residences at 6100 Oxford Ave. (Jan. 19), 6200 Everett Ave. (Jan. 23) and 6000 Agusta St. (Jan. 18), an apartment house at 600 Magee Ave. (Jan. 23) and a public school at 7000 Horrocks St. (Jan. 18).
There were 81 thefts, which targeted 54 businesses, 20 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), five street thefts, a private residence and a nursing/retirement home. Ten arrests were made.
7th Police District
There were three robberies. William Garrett, 35, was arrested Jan. 29 following the robbery of a chain store at 10700 Haldeman Ave. Other robberies happened on the street at 2300 Woodward St. with a handgun (Jan. 30) and a cargo vehicle being hijacked at 8300 Dorcas St. (Jan. 24).
Javon Avery, 25, was arrested Jan. 20 following an assault with no weapon at an apartment house at 1700 Tomlinson Road. The only other reported assault happened on a SEPTA bus/trolley at 11600 Bustleton Ave. on Jan. 29 and involved a knife.
The only reported burglary took place at a gas station at 10000 Verree Road on Jan. 23.
There were 49 thefts, which targeted 35 businesses, 10 vehicles (including a vehicle tag), two street thefts, an apartment house and a bicycle. Six arrests were made. In addition, there were no reported stolen or recovered vehicles..
8th Police District
The two reported robberies took place on the street at 2800 Walnut Hill St. with a handgun (Jan. 25) and at a vehicle parked at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Grant Avenue with no weapon (Jan. 19).
There were 10 aggravated assaults, which resulted in five arrests. Assaults on the street included an incident with a handgun at 4800 Wingate St. (Jan. 30), an incident with a knife at 9400 Kirkwood Road (Jan. 32, Vito Pulizzi, 54), an incident with no weapon at 3500 Academy Road (Jan. 18) and two assaults on police at 8200 Roosevelt Blvd. (Jan. 23, Jose Cruz-Castro, 43). Assaults at private residences happened at 12500 Fedor Place (Jan. 21, Geoffrey Scarinci, 41), 3500 Teton Road (Jan. 31, Walter Gaither, 74) and 3100 Fairdale Road (Jan. 28, Jerome Sacco, 32). Other assaults happened at an apartment house at 9100 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 25) and a restaurant at 1900 Franklin Mills Circle (Jan. 18) with a handgun.
There were seven burglaries, which targeted private residences at 700 Waterview Lane (Jan. 21), 8000 Leon St. (Jan. 20), 12700 Minden Road (Jan. 27) and 4400 Ernie Davis Circle (Jan. 29). Other burglaries happened at a restaurant at 2500 Grant Ave. (Jan. 19), a car wash at 12000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Jan. 22) and a retail location at 9700 Roosevelt Blvd. (Jan. 21).
There were 50 thefts, which targeted 23 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and four stolen vehicle tags), 21 businesses, four street thefts (including a pickpocketing), a bank and a doctor’s office. Three arrests were made.
15th Police District
There were 12 robberies. Jamal Burrell, 22, was arrested Jan. 25 following the robbery of a vehicle parked at 5400 Bustleton Ave. with a handgun. Robberies on the street with handguns happened at 7500 Torresdale Ave. (Jan. 18), 1500 Ruan St. (Jan. 23) and 4700 Comly St. (Jan. 24), and with no weapons at 4800 Rhawn St. (Jan. 24), 4500 Benner St. (Jan. 26) and 5500 Ditman St. (Jan. 27). Other robberies happened at private residences at 4600 Horrocks St. (Jan. 24) and 4400 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 28), at retail locations at 7500 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 20) with a handgun and 6400 Sackett St. (Jan. 26) with no weapon, and at a gas station at 4800 Tacony St. (Jan. 28) with a knife.
There were 18 aggravated assaults, which resulted in seven arrests. Assaults on the street with handguns happened at 4500 Tackawanna St. (Jan. 18), 1800 Kennedy Court (Jan. 21), the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Oakmont Street (Jan. 22, Andre Pickersgill, 44), 4500 Hedge St. (Jan. 24) and 4800 Oxford Ave. (Jan. 26); an assault with a knife happened at 5300 Akron St. (Jan. 28); assaults with other weapons at 3100 Barnett St. (Jan. 20, Leona Cunningham, 24) and 5400 Valley St. (Jan. 23); and a domestic assault at 1100 Sanger St. (Jan. 21). Assaults at private residences included domestic assaults at 1100 Herbert St. (Jan. 23, Jainlett Quanon, 27) and 5200 Pennway St. (Jan. 18); assaults with knives at 6700 Vandike St. (Jan. 22, Clint Twilley, 51) and 5400 Torresdale Ave. (Jan. 30, Frederick Bolden, 63); and an assault with another weapon at 3500 Vista St. (Jan. 25). Other assaults happened at apartment houses at 4800 Oxford Ave. (Jan. 24, Stephanie Bates, 30) and 4700 Longshore Ave. (Jan. 25), a gas station at 6300 Frankford Ave. with a handgun (Jan. 24) and a retail location at 5200 Torresdale Ave. with a handgun (Jan. 27).
There were 10 burglaries, which took place at private residences at 2100 Sanger St. (Jan. 21), 4600 Unruh Ave. (Jan. 19), 1400 Van Kirk St. (Jan. 20), 4600 Magee Ave. (Jan. 26), 4500 Bleigh Ave. (Jan. 27), 1400 Sellers St. (Jan. 20), 1100 Wakeling St. (Jan. 22) and 6700 Keystone St. (Jan. 26). Other burglaries happened at a chain retail store at 4300 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 20) and a drug store at 6000 Tulip St. (Jan. 20).
There were 91 thefts, which targeted 45 vehicles (including 14 stolen vehicle tags), 21 businesses, 17 street thefts (including two purse snatchings), seven private residences and an apartment house. Four arrests were made.
