Congratulations to these Northeast Philadephia scholars

The University of Tampa honored 1,762 students who were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list. The following local students were named to the dean’s list: Nicholas Domenic, a senior majoring in allied health; Jenna Maloney, a sophomore majoring in advertising and public relations; and Julia Zamites, a freshman majoring in psychology. ••

On Jan. 30, more than 700 graduates earned associate degrees, specialized diplomas and certificates from Northampton Community College. Among them were Tyeesha Mahan, who received a certificate in practical nursing, and Betsy Atkinson, Albina Iazykova, Jennifer Miller and Jessica Miller, all of whom earned specialized diplomas in early childhood education. ••

Sebastian Benjamin, who majors in exploratory studies, was named to the dean’s list at St. Francis University. Benjamin was among more than 750 students who earned a spot on one of the honors lists for the fall 2020 semester. Students must have full-time status and attain a quality point average of 3.500 to make the dean’s list. ••

Jiayi Meng has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. Meng, a senior majoring in textiles, merchandising and fashion design, was named to the dean’s list for the College of Education and Human Sciences, where the standard for making the list is a GPA of 3.75. ••

James Madison University announced that the following local students made the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester: Irish McCuen-O’Connor, an undeclared major, and Brianne Murphy, who is majoring in health sciences. ••

Seton Hall University announced the following local students who qualified for the fall 2020 dean’s list: Emma Birney, Stephen Dibello, Madelyn Elliott, Meredith Elliott, Holland Loghing and Lindsay Vena. Undergraduate students completing all courses with a GPA of 3.4, with no grades lower than “C”, qualify for the dean’s list. ••

Shiyang Yu was named to the dean’s list at Miami University (Ohio) for the 2020-21 fall semester. Miami University students who are ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within their division for first semester 2020-21 have been named to the dean’s list, recognizing academic performance. ••

More than 2,300 students graduated with bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degrees from Ohio University for fall semester 2020. Students included Hisham Abumounshar, Mary Tees and Anette Vietorisz, who all earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing. ••
