The Philadelphia Building & Construction Trades Council’s 36th annual All Star Labor Classic basketball games took place on Sunday afternoon at Holy Family University.

Proceeds benefited the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The event pitted the City Girls vs. Suburban Girls teams and the City Boys vs. Suburban Boys.

The City Girls won 72-44. The City Boys won 81-60 behind a very good performance on both ends of the court by Archbishop Wood’s 6-foot-7 Carson Howard, a Northeast resident who will play at East Stroudsburg.

Other local players were Father Judge’s Chris Brennan and Ernest Shelton, Archbishop Ryan’s Jack Dreibelbis and Zaire Paris, Little Flower’s Gabrielle Dever, Penn Charter’s Bella Toomey and Aleah Snead and Central’s Sara Hogan.

Every participating player received a $500 college scholarship, thanks to sponsorships.

Prior to the two main events, attendees enjoyed the Labor All Stars vs. Media All Stars. That game ended, by tradition, in a tie, 49-49. ••
