Crime Log: May 14 – 27

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were 14 robberies, most of which took place on the street. These took place at 7400 Summerdale Ave. (May 18), 7200 Horrocks St. (May 18), 6300 Oxford Ave. (May 22), 6500 Bradford Terrace (May 16), 7700 Bradford St. (May 18), 6400 Summerdale Ave. (May 18), 6500 Castor Ave. (May 21) and 6900 Horrocks St. (May 18). The first three incidents involved handguns. Five businesses were targeted, including a gas station at 5600 Rising Sun Ave. (May 17), a chain store at 5700 Oxford Ave. involving a handgun (May 23), a chain store at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. involving a knife (May 21), a clothing store at 6700 Castor Ave. involving a knife (May 23) and a mini market at 5200 Montour St. (May 26). An office building at 6500 Castor Ave. was robbed on May 24.

There were eight aggravated assaults. An assault at a private residence at 5900 Lawndale St. on May 24 resulted in the arrest of Chenise Byer, 41. Four of the assaults took place on the street at 700 Cottman Ave. (May 17), 500 Rosalie St. (May 21), 6100 Algon Ave. (May 22) and 900 Sanger St. (May 14). The first three involved handguns. The rest took place at private residences or apartment houses at 600 Allengrove St. (May 19), 1400 Greeby St. (May 24), 900 Scattergood St. (May 26) and 300 Sanger St. (May 20).

There were 13 burglaries, almost all of which targeted private residences or apartment houses. Anthony Bradley, 25, was arrested May 25 in response to a burglary at a private residence at 300 Sanger St. on May 19. Others took place at 300 Sanger St. (May 20), 1400 Magee Ave. (May 15), 7200 Souder St. (May 18), 500 Van Kirk St. (May 18), 2100 Disston St. (May 23), 7500 Calvert St. (May 17), 300 Unruh Ave. (May 27), 7600 Summerdale Ave. (May 16), 4000 Roosevelt Blvd. (May 18) and 5900 Colgate St. (May 21). A restaurant at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. was burglarized May 18. A church at 400 Sentner St. was burglarized May 21.

There were 81 thefts, which targeted 37 vehicles (including one stolen vehicle tag), 23 businesses, eight street thefts, six private residences, five bicycles, one SEPTA property and a public school. Nine arrests were made. At least 38 of the thefts were of $200 or more. In addition, 25 vehicles were reported stolen, 15 of which have been recovered. Four arrests were made.

7th Police District

The only robbery took place on the street of 8000 Bustleton Ave. on May 21 and involved no weapon. There were two aggravated assaults, including one on May 15 that took place at a firehouse at 9800 Bustleton Ave. Michael Furlow, 58, was arrested. The second took place on the street of 1900 Woodhaven Road on May 15 and involved a handgun.

The nine burglaries mostly targeted private residences or apartment houses. These took place at 8000 Algon Ave. (May 18), 1900 Stanwood St. (May 26), 10800 Proctor Road (May 15), 8100 Jeanes St. (May 15), 2300 Tremont St. (May 21), 1800 Tustin Ave. (May 21), 2200 Fulmer St. (May 21) and 400 Tomlinson Road (May 23). A hospital at 13400 Philmont Ave. was robbed May 18.

There were 31 thefts, which targeted 13 vehicles (including two vehicle tags), 13 businesses, two street thefts, one apartment house, one private residence and one public school. Five arrests were made. In addition, six vehicles were reported stolen, three of which have been recovered. One arrest was made.

8th Police District

Both robberies resulted in arrests. Anthony Bradley, 25, was arrested May 25 following the robbery of a private residence at 12500 Biscayne Drive with the assistance of a handgun. Andrew Ward, 27, was arrested May 24 following a bank robbery at 3900 Woodhaven Road.

There were four aggravated assaults. Henry and Latina Willingham, 32 and 34, were arrested May 17 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 25000 Delaire Landing Road. The other assaults took place on the street at 9100 Roosevelt Blvd. involving a handgun (May 14) and 14000 McNulty Road (May 18). There was also an assault involving a knife or similar weapon at a prison facility at 8200 State Road on May 27.

There were four burglaries. Tahir Green, 22, was arrested May 27 following a burglary at an apartment house at 9600 Ashton Road. The other burglaries targeted an apartment house at 8200 Frankford Ave. (May 15), a private residence at 4200 Mill St. (May 21) and a restaurant at 9200 Frankford Ave. (May 23).

There were 41 thefts, which targeted 22 businesses, 10 vehicles (including four stolen vehicle tags), five street thefts, a parking lot, a college, a private residence and an apartment house. Eleven of the thefts were of $200 or more. Four arrests were made. In addition, 10 vehicles were reported stolen, four of which were recovered.

15th Police District

There were 23 robberies, which yielded six arrests. Most of the robberies took place on the street. These happened at the intersection of Penn and Pratt streets (May 15), 6000 Torresdale Ave. (May 17), 2900 Rawle St. (May 17), 7100 Brous Ave. (May 18), 3000 Nesper St. (May 18), 7200 Vandike St. (May 18), 4900 Salem St. (May 20), 4300 Princeton Ave. (May 20), the intersection of Paul and Womrath streets (May 24), 4500 Penn St. (May 24) and 3200 Ryan Ave (May 24), all of which involved handguns. Eric Konewal, 50, was arrested May 18 following a robbery involving a knife at Shelmire Avenue and Ditman Street. Chris Wilson, 24, was arrested May 22 following a robbery at 1500 Arrott St. Angel Pantoja, 29, and Santiago Reyes, 38, were arrested May 23 following a robbery on the street of 5000 Frankford Ave. Quasim Johnson, 20, was arrested May 27 following a robbery at 4600 Frankford Ave. More robberies not involving weapons happened at 4200 Penn St. (May 15), 6700 Sackett St. (May 19), 1500 Bridge St. (May 19), 4300 Princeton Ave. (May 20), 4700 Frankford Ave. (May 26) and 5200 Frankford Ave. (May 20). A private residence at 3500 Cottman Ave. was robbed with a handgun May 23, and a chain store at 2900 Cottman Ave. was robbed May 22.

There were 29 aggravated assaults, which yielded seven arrests. Most of them took place on the street. These were at 4500 Unruh Ave., 2100 Anchor St., twice on 4700 Griscom St., 5400 Torresdale Ave., 7900 Frankford Ave., 4800 Mulberry St., twice at 4600 Hellerman St. (Amber Bruce, 25, and Henry Lowry, 23), 4000 Bleigh Ave. (William Rojas, 42), twice at 4300 Frankford Ave., 1400 Alcott St., 5700 Leonard St., 4200 Unruh St., the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue (Harley Mason, 24), 7400 Roosevelt Blvd., 1900 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Charles Bowers, 60), 5200 Frankford Ave., 7200 Vandike St., 4600 Ashville St., 4500 Belgrade St. and 5200 Tulip St. (Mark Steven Becker, 39). Others took place at private residences at 4900 Penn St., 4700 Melrose St. (Levi Suss-Gonzalez, 39), 5300 Charles St., 6100 Walker St., 6000 Tulip St. and 2900 Teesdale St.

There were 17 burglaries, most of which targeted private residences. These were at 2900 Knorr St. (May 17), 6300 Marsden St. (May 20), 4600 Sheffield Ave. (May 18), 7000 Torresdale Ave. (May 20), 6500 Ditman St. (May 17), 4200 Penn St. (May 18), 6600 Vandike St. (May 21), 4300 Tyson Ave. (May 24), 3000 Tyson Ave. (May 24), 1300 Anchor St. (May 20), 2200 Pratt St. (May 20) and 5300 Lesher St. (May 17). The rest took place at an apartment house at 6500 Edmund St. (May 22), a gas station at 2500 Orthodox St. (May 22), two commercial garages at 1100 Adams Ave. (May 19) and 4600 Pilling St. (May 19) and a retail store at 4300 Griscom St. (May 17).

There were 92 thefts, which targeted 49 cars (including five stolen vehicle tags), 21 businesses, 11 street thefts, seven private residences, three public schools and a museum. At least 42 of the thefts were plunders of $200 or more. Five arrests were made. In addition, 43 vehicles were reported stolen, 28 of which were recovered. Three arrests were made. ••
