Philadelphia police Sgt. Chanta Herder, 42, was arrested early Oct. 1 and charged with driving under the influence, police said in a news release.
Herder, who was off duty, police said, was involved in a minor accident with another vehicle on the 7900 block of Verree Road. Police administered a Breathalyzer test and found Herder was over the legal limit of alcohol consumption, police said.
Herder, a 14-year police department veteran, is assigned to the 19th District. She is on administrative duty, pending an investigation.
