The Tacony Civic Association will onsor the first Tacony Pride Day on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
All Tacony residents and businesses are encouraged to clean up the front and back of their homes and stores and to team with neighbors to spruce up the rest of the block.
Civic association leaders believe the neighborhood will look a lot better if community members sweep, pull weeds and pick up litter. As a side benefit, participants will get to meet neighbors they don’t know.
The city sanitation department will pick up trash during the day. Residents and business owners must call 215–338–2575 to schedule pickup. Otherwise, put the trash out on your regular day.
The civic group is grateful to volunteers from Hamilton Disston School for delivering fliers door to door.
The group’s next activity will be a flea market on Saturday, June 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Disston Park, along the 6900 block of Keystone St.
The civic association’s boundaries stretch from Robbins to Cottman avenues, from Frankford Avenue to the Delaware River.
