Two well-known NE bowling alleys roll into the gutter

Two venerable local bowling alleys closed recently.

The building that housed Boulevard Lanes and the Arena Sports Bar, at 8011 Roosevelt Blvd., has boards on its windows.

The signs have been taken down and replaced by a Binswanger sale sign. The 39,500-square-foot property sits on 2.36 acres.

A note is posted that anyone who has a gift card or coupons can redeem them at AMF Bristol Pike Lanes in Croydon.

Meanwhile, another 1960s-era bowling alley, Adams Lanes, has closed its doors at 649 Foulkrod St. Calls to that location are directed to Erie Lanes, at 1310 E. Erie Ave. in Juniata Park. ••
