Civic associations schedule meetings in June

A number of local civic associations are planning June meetings.

On Monday, June 13, the East Torresdale Civic Association will meet at Liberty Evangelical Free Church, Linden Avenue and Milnor Street, at 7 p.m.

The Holmesburg Civic Association will meet on Tuesday, June 14, at 7:15 p.m. at Holmesburg Recreation Center, at Rhawn and Ditman streets.

Also on June 14, the Somerton Civic Association will meet at Walker Lodge 306, 1290 Southampton Road.

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association usually meets on the second Thursday of the month, but its next meeting has been pushed back to June 16 at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, at Cottman and Lawndale avenues. City Councilman Brian O’Neill (R-10th dist.) will speak about the Zoning Code Commission.

Friends of Summerdale Civic Association will also meet on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Houseman Playground, at Summerdale and Godfrey avenues. Officials from the 2nd Police District will be present.

Also on June 16, the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association will meet at St. Dominic’s Marian Hall, 8504 Frankford Ave.

The Northwood Civic Association will meet on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, at Castor Avenue and Pratt Street.

The Lawncrest Community Association will also meet on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at St. William parish hall, at Argyle and Robbins streets.

The newly reorganized Wissinoming Civic Association is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 p.m. at 5808 Torresdale Ave.

Members of the Greater Bustleton Civic League, who usually meet near the end of each month, have scheduled their next session for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at Temple Beth Ami, 9201 Old Bustleton Ave. ull;•
