A Philadelphia Department of Streets employee who lives in the Northeast has been charged with sexually assaulting his 12-year-old daughter numerous times over several years.
Police arrested the suspect at Germantown Hospital on Friday after the man’s daughter reported the alleged abuse to the special victims unit.
The Northeast Times is withholding the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim. The father is 39 years old and lives on the 9600 block of Ashton Road.
According to Lt. Anthony McFadden of SVU, the victim told investigators that the most recent attack occurred May 27 when her father allegedly attempted to assault her in her bedroom.
The suspect is an electrician with the streets department’s traffic division. A Facebook page in his name states that he is divorced and has five children. The police department did not release information about other children in his home or whether any other potential victims have reported abuse.
On the same Facebook page, the accused identifies himself as a Christian who “truly cares for others who especially are in need.”
“I know that I’m not perfect in any way,” the suspect wrote, “but I’m striving to fulfill my destiny, which is to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” ••
