An elderly Bustleton man shot his wife fatally in the head before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide, Philadelphia police say.
The couple’s 16-year-old grandson made the grisly discovery of the deceased couple at their home on Northeast Avenue, near Grant Avenue, on June 22 at about 10:30 a.m.
He had gone there to check on them reportedly after telephone calls to the home had gone unanswered.
The female victim, 71-year-old Judith Cabry, was in the kitchen while her husband, Michael Cabry, 74, was in a backyard shed, police said. A gun was found on the property.
Police have not disclosed what circumstances may have prompted the violence. ••
