Civic groups are getting back to business

Labor Day is past and that means many civic associations throughout the Northeast will resume their general meeting schedules. The meetings are free and open to the public.

The East Torresdale Civic Association will reconvene on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at Liberty Evangelical Free Church, Linden Avenue and Milnor Street.

On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Somerton Civic Association will meet at Walker Lodge 306, 1290 Southampton Road, at 7:30 p.m. Also that night, the Holmesburg Civic Association has scheduled a meeting for 7:15 p.m. at Holmesburg Community Center, Rhawn and Ditman streets.

The reorganized Wissinoming Civic Association has scheduled a Wednesday, Sept. 14, meeting at 5808 Torresdale Ave. at 7 p.m. On the same night, the Fox Chase Homeowners Association and Fox Chase Town Watch will hold their joint bi-monthly meeting at Cpl. John Loudenslager American Legion Post 366, 7976 Oxford Ave., at 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association will meet at St. Dominic’s Marian Hall, 8532 Frankford Ave. ••
