The 35th Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade, sponsored by the Mayfair Business Association, is set for Sunday, Nov. 20, from noon to 3 p.m.
The rain date is Dec. 4.
The theme is Bringing Music to Mayfair. The grand marshal will be Ed Kelly, who is credited with establishing the popular Pennypark Park Music Festival.
The route will go south on Frankford Avenue from Rhawn Street to Knorr Street.
Participants will perform for two to three minutes at Ryan Avenue and at the end of the route, with announcers at both locations.
The intersection of Frankford and Cottman avenues will feature radio station B101, balloon artists and face painters.
Ribbons will be awarded for Most Creative Float, Funniest Float and Best Parade Themed Float.
A baby/toddler contest has been added. There will be ribbons for Best Fancy Duds, Most Creative Stroller or Wagon and Best Parade Themed Stroller or Wagon.
All floats must be family oriented and no taller than 12 feet, due to the SEPTA trolley lines. New banners must be ordered by Nov. 4. Information for all banner entries must be submitted by Nov. 11.
On the day of the parade, approved vendors will be wearing yellow buttons.
