St. Hubert High School, at Torresdale and Cottman avenues, will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a couple of events next week.
The school will host a Mass on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 12:30 p.m., in the auditorium. An individual from each of the graduating classes, 1942 to 2011, will carry her class flag. The Mass will be celebrated by pastors from local parishes.
Following the Mass, there will be a reception in the cafeteria.
The school will hold a social on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 11 p.m., at Finnigan’s Wake, at Third and Spring Garden streets. All alumnae and friends are invited, and a bus will leave the school at 6:45 p.m. The cost is $35 and includes beer, wine, soda, food and dancing. Meanwhile, the Parents Association is sponsoring a beef-and-beer comedy night on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 7 p.m. to midnight, in the school cafeteria. The headline act will be sports comedian Joe Conklin. Tickets cost $30, and guests are welcome to BYOB. Tickets are available by calling Rob at 215–805–8923 or Tom at 267–441–8285.
