The top female runner was Maria Collazo, 49, who ran the five-mile course in 37:47.7.

Participants battled a heavy wind. The largely flat course took runners and walkers on the pavement surrounding the perimeter of the airport. Cheerleaders greeted them at the finish line.

Proceeds benefit the Northeast Philadelphia Youth Alliance, which consists of the Academy Sabres Sports Association, Calvary Athletic Association, Liberty Bell Youth Organization, Parkwood Youth Organization, Penn Academy Athletic Association, Penn Crisp Inc., Philadelphia Soccer Club and Torresdale Boys Club.

State Rep. and City Council candidate Dennis O’Brien (R-169th dist.) organizes the race. The 58-year-old lawmaker was timed in 49:47.8.
