A Philadelphia police officer has been charged with assault, reckless endangerment and conspiracy in connection with a February 2010 fight involving his girlfriend and three other women.
Officer Anthony Alexander was arrested Oct. 27 and suspended from the police force.
He will be fired after a mandatory 30-day suspension, the department’s media relations office said in a printed statement.
On Feb. 11, 2010, Alexander and his girlfriend — whose name was not released — were on the 600 block of Edison Ave. in Somerton when they became involved in a verbal and physical altercation with three other women.
The police department’s internal affairs bureau and the district attorney’s office investigated the case.
Alexander is free on $2,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 29. ••
