The person who dumped several decapitated animals on a Far Northeast property in mid-December has been tracked down and fined.
The suspect, a Northeast resident, was fined $50, said Wendy Marano, a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Along with the beheaded carcasses of 11 animals — goats, chickens and ducks — the dumper had left behind some trash at Dutton and Comly roads, Marano said. That made the dumper easy to track down because his name and address were on some of that trash.
The animals did not appear to have been killed inhumanely, Marano said, adding that they were used in religious rituals.
Dumping carcasses isn’t legal, Marano said, although it is a common enough occurrence in Philadelphia. THE PSPCA gets one call a month about the crime, she added. ••
