Authorities remain stumped about circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead person in the Poquessing Creek on Sunday afternoon.
A man who was feeding ducks in the woods near the 3500 block of Vinton Road found the unresponsive male face down in the creek at about 12:45 p.m. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene and took him to the medical examiner’s office, said Officer Jillian Russell, a Philadelphia police spokeswoman.
The dead person is still being referred to as “John Doe.” A cause of death has not been determined.
He was described as being in his late teens or early 20s, having a light complexion and standing 5 feet 5 inches tall. He had no overt signs of traumatic injuries. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue jeans jacket and a blue wristband.
