The Acme supermarket at 3200 Red Lion Road recently honored Christ the King Elementary School third-grade teacher Mary Thurston Clark as Teacher of the Month for January.
Sister Trudy Helder, SSJ, the longtime principal at the Morrell Park school, allowed the students to nominate a teacher, and they chose Clark.
Store director Vickie Babst visited the school to present Clark with a $50 Acme gift card and a reusable bag filled with supermarket specialty products. Clark’s students were treated to a cookie party.
Acme recently initiated the program at its 116 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. ••
