Suspect sought in bank heist

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Fox Chase bank on Monday morning.

The suspect entered the Vist Financial branch at 8000 Verree Road at about 11:30 a.m., presented a threatening demand note to a teller, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, possibly in a white, full-size van with roof ladders, the FBI said.

The suspect was described as black, in his late 30s, 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall, stocky and with a dark complexion and thick beard. He wore a black baseball cap with a red brim and logo on the front, a black jacket, dark gray pants with rolled-up legs and a red rag or towel in his back pocket.

He is considered armed and dangerous. Call the FBI at 215–418–4000 to report information about the crime. There may be a reward for information leading to his capture. Callers may remain anonymous. ••
