Pets of the Week (April 4, 2012)

Bailey’s the cream of the crop

Bailey is a friendly 2-year-old cat who likes other cats, dogs and kids.

The cat is available for adoption at the Women’s Humane Society, at 3839 Richlieu Road in Bensalem. Her tag number is 610.

Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Call 215–750–3100 or visit www.whspets.org ••

Sammie wants your attention

Sammie is a 2-year-old orange and white female tabby who was living on the streets before being taken in for foster care through Forgotten Cats.

The cat needs a home where she will receive time and attention.

Sammie is adjusted to other cats, but plays rough, so she should not go home with young children.

The cat is spayed and vaccinated, and has tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.

To apply to adopt Sammie, visit www.petfinder.com/shelters/PA586.html or go to the PetSmart at 901 Old York Road in Abington. ••

Don’t turn your back on Jack

Jack is a 74-pound adult terrier/pit bull mix whose former owner brought him to Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. His tag number is A15573534.

The dog is quiet, but he’s also happy and can be silly. He needs to learn to walk better on a leash and to stop hugging people. He’d like to meet any children under 12 before being adopted.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone interested in fostering a pet can e-mail [email protected] or [email protected] ••

Have a chat with this cool cat

O’Malley’s previous owner was undergoing cancer treatments and could no longer care for him.

The 4-year-old cat is in foster care. He’s sweet and playful and loves to “chat.” He enjoys people and attention. He’d do best as an only cat.

O’Malley is neutered and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.

To adopt O’Malley, fill out an application at http://nar.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=4149549 or visit PetSmart at 11000 Roosevelt Blvd. ••
