A number of local community organizations will be meeting later this month.
The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association will meet on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m., at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, at Cottman and Lawndale avenues.
The guest speaker will be Common Pleas Court Judge Chris Wogan, who is also a former state representative.
Also, Dave McCarron and Paul Corbett will provide information on an April 21 Night at the Races that will benefit the Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial assistance to wounded Marines and their families.
Two groups will meet on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.: The Lawncrest Community Association will meet at St. William parish hall, at Argyle and Robbins streets, and Northwood Civic Association will meet at St. James Lutheran Church, at Castor Avenue and Pratt Street.
The LCA will welcome officials from the 2nd Police District, along with Kathleen Kane, a former Lackawanna County assistant district attorney who is seeking the Democratic nomination for state attorney general.
The Friends of Summerdale Civic Association will meet on Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m., at Houseman Playground, at Summerdale and Godfrey avenues. Representatives from the 2nd Police District and Philadelphia Gas Works will be in attendance.
Members of the Parkwood Civic Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, in St. Anselm’s church hall on Dunks Ferry Road.
The Millbrook Civic Association’s next session will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in the Calvary Athletic Association on Deer Path Lane. Member usually meet on the last Tuesday of the month, but are meeting earlier because April 24 is Election Day.
Members of the Normandy Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. on April 17 at the Norcom Community Center, 10980 Norcom Road.
The Frankford Civic Association’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in the second-floor conference room of Aria Health’s Frankford campus, 4900 Frankford Ave.
The Greater Bustleton Civic League will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the American Heritage Federal Credit Union, 2060 Red Lion Road. ••
