A motorcycle struck and injured a 7-year-old girl critically as she was crossing an Academy Gardens street last Thursday.
The victim suffered severe head and body trauma, police said. Authorities did not release her identity.
The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on the 9200 block of Annapolis Road when the girl darted into the street and the motorcycle struck her. A 31-year-old man was aboard the 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan. He remained at the scene and has not been charged criminally.
The girl was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, then transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Authorities have not released her identity or updated condition, citing medical privacy regulations. ••
