The Holme Circle Civic Association can offer a lot to residents of the neighborhood. But the group’s efforts have been hindered of late by a shortage of participation by those who would stand to benefit from a strong civic association, according to its president, Joe Razler.
So, the 20 or so active members are launching a major membership drive in hope of attracting some new blood. Neighborhood residents are invited to attend the next HCCA general membership meeting on Wednesday, June 27, at 7 p.m., in the St. Jerome’s School library, Stamford and Colfax streets.
Membership recruitment will top the agenda, Razler said, but the association can offer a lot to residents in the way of protecting their community.
The civic group represents the neighborhood on all zoning applications and appeals; networks with local police to improve public safety and quality of life; and is working on a beautification project for Holme Avenue at the heart of the community.
Meetings are free to attend but residents should come prepared with complaints and with ideas for ways to improve the neighborhood.
