The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northeast Detectives Division is seeking the public’s help in locating the following most-wanted suspects in connection with crimes in the Northeast:
• Marcelles Hobbs, 24, of the 5900 block of Shisler St., is wanted for burglary, receiving stolen property and theft.
On May 16, a woman called police to report that her home on the 5900 block of Belden St. had been burglarized. An iPod, MacBook Pro computer, Xbox game system, PSP device and a semi-automatic rifle were all missing.
The victim contacted Apple, which used the global positioning feature on one of her devices to determine its location. The device allegedly was inside Hobbs’ Shisler Street residence. Police executed a search warrant there and found several items belonging to the victim.
Hobbs is black, 6 feet tall and 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
• Jason McCarthy, 27, of the 2300 block of Solly Ave., is wanted for burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
McCarthy allegedly broke into a store on the 8000 block of Castor Ave. between 6:30 p.m. on April 29 and 6 a.m. the following day and stole a cash register drawer containing $100 cash. Video surveillance cameras in the store filmed the suspect, who the shop owner identified as a former employee, police said.
McCarthy is white, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his upper right chest.
• Sean McQuaid, 24, of the 14000 block of Faraday St., is wanted for theft and receiving stolen property.
While working with a local pawnshop to identify possible thieves, police detectives learned that McQuaid had pawned numerous pieces of jewelry between March 24 and April 9. Through follow-up investigation, detectives determined that the jewelry, which was valued at between $8,000 and $10,000, had been stolen from a female relative of the suspect’s.
McQuaid is white, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
• Carlos Seigo, 33, of the 3100 block of N. Front St., is wanted for escaping prison custody.
Seigo was incarcerated at a city prison at 8001 State Road on April 4 and enrolled in a work release program. He left the prison for work at 8:30 a.m. but failed to return at 4:30 p.m. after his shift, police said. Seigo did not call to explain his absence.
Seigo is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
• Stephon S. Whidbee, 22, of the 300 block of Longshore Ave., is wanted for theft and receiving stolen property.
On Sept. 25, Whidbee was working as a cashier in a store on the 9700 block of Roosevelt Blvd. when he registered purchases for a group of four males. Store loss prevention officers suspected that Whidbee didn’t charge the patrons full price for the items they brought to the checkout counter.
When security guards investigated the four patrons, they determined that the patrons had received $4,000 worth of merchandise but had been charged just $160.
When questioned by store officials, Whidbee allegedly admitted to undercharging the patrons, but he left the store before police arrived to arrest him.
In a follow-up investigation, store officials determined that Whidbee had been involved in a series of similar thefts between July and September last year when he allegedly gave about $20,000 in merchandise to two patrons, but charged them for only a fraction of the price.
Whidbee is black, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
