Firefighters were called to a property on the 4700 block of Leiper St. for the second time in a month on July 15. But just as they had on July 7, firefighters quickly arrived and got things under control.
Light smoke was coming from a multifamily structure on the block at 8:24 a.m. on July 15, said Executive Fire Chief Richard Davison. No one was injured and it was believed an electrical problem was the source of the smoke, the chief said.
On July 7, there was a fire at the same building, which firefighters had under control in 10 minutes, Davison said. No one was injured in that incident, and the cause of that fire has not been determined, the chief said.
In both cases, the Red Cross aided residents. ••
