Brian Butler Memorial Golf Outing slated for Aug. 19

The 10th Annual Brian T. Butler Memorial Golf Outing will take place on Aug. 19 at The Bucks Club at 2600 York Road in Jamison. About 140 golfers are expected to participate, and another 35 to 50 people will attend only the buffet luncheon.

The annual benefit honors the memory of Brian Butler, who attended St. Martha’s Elementary School and graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School, and was an avid sports fan. He was killed at age 26 in a car accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in April 2003.

Cost for the golf outing is $140 per golfer, and $45 for the luncheon only. Jaclynn Lukach, a family friend who is helping to organize this year’s benefit, said over the years proceeds from the golf outing have provided 19 full scholarships to students at St. Martha’s Elementary School, funds to help build a new parish gymnasium and assistance in buying equipment and uniforms for the school’s CYO sports programs.

In order to make this year’s charitable event as successful as possible, Lukach said the golf outing could still use donations. These could be money, door prizes such as gift cards gift baskets, or hole sponsorship at $75/per hole.

A published list of all contributors will be displayed throughout the golf outing.

The Brian T. Butler Memorial Fund is a non-profit foundation and donations are tax deductible. For more information, contact Lukach at (610) 551–3039 or [email protected]. More information is also available at www.brianbutler21.com
