Fire burns Frankford house for a third time

Northeast Detectives, the fire marshal and the Department of Licenses & Inspections are looking into three fires that have occurred since early July at a house on the 4700 block of Leiper St. in Frankford, Executive Fire Chief Richard Davison said.

The latest fire occurred on Aug. 15, Davison said. Firefighters were called to the address at 1:17 a.m. and arrived at 1:20 a.m. and soon had a blaze on the first floor under control. No one was injured.

Similarly, no one was hurt during fires at the same property on July 7 and July 15. The fires’ causes are being investigated.

The three-story building is a multifamily dwelling, according to the city’s online property records. Property taxes have not been paid in 2010, 2011 or 2012, according to the city Revenue Department’s online records. There are two liens on the building, and more than $5,600 is owed in delinquent taxes, interest and penalties, the records show.••
